Celebrating
Dr. David Wisinger’s Impact
For more than 40 years, Dr. David Wisinger has shaped the future of medicine at Valleywise Health, training generations of physicians to deliver thoughtful, compassionate care to our community.

This summer, Dr. Wisinger will be concluding his tenure as Chair of Internal Medicine. In honor of Dr. Wisinger’s years of leadership and unwavering commitment to patients, medical students, residents, and our community, we invite you to make a meaningful impact on those he has so passionately served.
Gifts to this fund will provide durable medical equipment for patients who need continued support after they leave the hospital, including walkers, wheelchairs, and portable oxygen. These essentials help patients recover safely, maintain independence, and avoid unnecessary readmissions.
Your support helps ensure patients leave with the tools they need to continue healing.
Thank you for honoring Dr. Wisinger’s legacy through care that continues beyond our walls.

“It’s been an honor to work alongside you. Your guidance has shaped not only the department of Internal Medicine but also the careers and hearts of those fortunate enough to learn from you. Dr Wisinger ; you have healed, led and inspired.
Congratulations on this transition — may your next journey be as impactful and rewarding as the one you’ve led and we’re excited to see you more often in the hallways of Valleywise.”

“Congratulations on your retirement after years of teaching and mentoring. It was a privilege to train under you during my Internal Medicine residency. Your clinical wisdom, dedication to excellence, and commitment to your trainees have had a lasting impact on my career and on the countless physicians you have helped shape.
Thank you for your guidance, inspiration, and service to medicine. Your legacy will live on through all of us who had the honor of learning from you.”

“Thank you for teaching me during my intern year. Your understanding of the administrative workings of the hospital, social work, nursing, dietetics, pharmacy, and the knowledge you earned through decades of practicing medicine shaped how you practiced medicine, cared for your patients, and taught residents. You grounded the science of medicine—what we learn in medical school—within the practical realities of the society and healthcare system in which we work—a skill and perspective rarely touched on in medical school though equally important.
Relatively few attendings can answer questions (and follow-up questions) that intersect these topics, and I took advantage of the weeks I learned from you to ask them. While my time at Valleywise was short, it was memorable in the best ways. I am fortunate to have learned from you and to have done so at Valleywise under your leadership.”
