Tim Louis

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Tim Louis serves as President and CEO of Desert Capital Investments (DCI), a private equity investment firm focused on early-stage businesses. One of DCI’s portfolio companies is Tempe, Arizona-based PIVOT Cycles. DCI has also invested in Ed Tech (rSmart, LumenLearning, Campus Logic and Active Class) and Med Tech (Helia Care and Norica) and others (Vinum55, Nuture Boss and Virtual Training World). Louis previously owned and operated a diagnostic audiology private practice in Houston, Texas.

Louis graduated from Northwestern University with BA and MS degrees in 1986 and 1987 respectively. Returning to Phoenix in 1996, Louis earned an MBA in Finance and Financial Markets from Arizona State University.

A member of the Phoenix Thunderbirds, Louis served as the WM Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman in 2008 and Big Chief (President) of the Thunderbirds in 2009.

Tim has served on several nonprofit boards including A.T. Still University, The Phoenix Art Museum, Thunderbirds Charities and The Phoenix Swim Club. In addition to Valleywise Health Foundation, he currently serves as a trustee at Phoenix Country Day School, The Sandra Day O’Connor Institute for American Democracy and is President of the Board for Desert Voices, a listening and spoken language curriculum private school for deaf children, the Arizona Cycling Association and the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA).

Tim is a passionate mountain biker and road cyclist and enjoys playing golf, fishing, reading and wine tasting. He and his wife Amy have four adult children and two grandchildren.
