Valleywise Employee Reflects on Giving Journey
As a Quality Assurance Analyst, Sunayana Chandrababu plays a vital role in improving patient care and safety at Valleywise Health. Before transitioning to Quality Management in 2022, she spent the majority of her career directly caring for patients as a Registered Nurse.
“My experience as a bedside nurse really shaped how I approach my current role,” she shared. “It gave me a deeper understanding of what patients go through and how we can better support them from a systems perspective.”
With many healthcare systems across the Valley, Sunayana says there’s a reason why she’s chosen to stay at Valleywise Health for over a decade.
“I love the population we serve,” she said. “They’re hardworking people who often put everything else before their health. It feels meaningful to be able to support them in getting back on their feet.”

Over the years, Sunayana has seen firsthand how Valleywise Health goes above and beyond for its patients.
“There are so many incredible programs here that truly make a difference in people’s lives,” she said. “We don’t just treat patients—we advocate for them. My mom always says, ‘Be the change you wish to see,’ and that’s something my family and I really believe in. If everyone takes even a small step, together we can create big change.”
Since 2014, Sunayana has consistently donated to Valleywise Health Foundation—a commitment rooted in gratitude and hope.
“I give what I can because I believe in the mission and the impact.”
